Product Description
Swift Canoes Dragonfly
The Swift Dragonfly comes directly out of the original U.S. Dave Curtis Dragonfly mould from the early 1980’s. Swift have restored the mould, and made it suitable for Swift’s resin infusion manufacturing process, but it does keep true to the original Dragonfly hull shape. Initially Swift are limiting their run of Dragonfly’s to x15 boats. So these are custom made to order, and we are happy to discuss your Dragonfly specifications, and pricing with you. (similar price to a Swift Keewaydin 15)
The Dragonfly canoe has similar proportions to the Swift Wildfire, but the Dragonfly has a rounded hull shape making it much less stable, but livelier and more playful. The Dragonfly excels at carved turns and is best suited to advanced paddlers with good open boating experience and balance. The Dragonfly has a nicely flared bow, which provides a dry ride and helps to deflect waves on open water.
The solo seat has an angled front bar to make it more comfortable to paddle, from either a sitting or kneeling position. The seat hangers can also be modified by the owner fairly easily (with some DIY skills and tools) to adjust the height or angle to customise it for the owner’s preferred paddling position.
